A state-based coalition of builders, designers, and industry professionals focused on advancing affordable, sustainable, and climate-forward buildings policy.

Energy efficiency and conservation are crucial for all buildings.

Smart, climate-informed building codes lower emissions and are energy efficient.

Effective building electrification reduces emissions and increases efficiency.

The workforce of the future will be leaders on building efficiency, performance, and decarbonization.
Buildings continue to be a growing source of emissions in Minnesota. In 2022, the residential buildings sector operational emissions were up 38% over 2005 levels and in the commercial sector emissions were up 48%.
The goal of this coalition is to bring the better building community together to advance “good for climate” policy in the buildings sector.

We’re most interested in the potential hemp brings to rebuilding our tribal and First Nations communities. We can grow our own homes. Better healthy homes for our people and their children.
Homes can be designed to meet or exceed the highest efficiency standards at a lower cost than typical code-built alternatives—making sustainable building practices more accessible, affordable, and essential to decarbonizing the sector.
Architecture has always intrigued me because of its ability to shape our environments to be more beautiful, sustainable, and equitable. It’s a way to shape community and concretize our values.
